From the Johnston Center media archives comes this 35:50 minute long portrait of the Johnston Center in 1986, made by John Grant, Johnston '82.
After a motorized tour around campus showing wide expanses of green grass where buildings now stand, we arrive at Bekins Hall. Interviews with current students and residents commence.
We settle in for some "Senior Class Testimonials" by Ben Hoffman, Cybil, John Perry, Brad Butterfield, Caren Andrus, and Dev Britto.
After that, the camera is mobile once more and tours Bekins from stem to stern, or basement to rooftop. Along the way, notable sights include Dev Britto's office (now "Daytime Java"), the Jimmy Room with pool table, dorm rooms and offices, and various murals (Hulk, Spiderman, Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon").
We visit The Orange Mill, an eatery (where was it located?), where students also study and smoke.
At the end, Dev Britto talks about his feelings about his job as Head Resident of Bekins.
